Open year-round with regularly changing artwork. CURRENT ARTWORK RULES Paola Ibarra Llano RULES is a collaborative installation created by visitors over time based on three simple rules. The aim is to explore how new connections are created between people who share a physical space and that might not have otherwise had a pretext to start a conversation. photo by Yadira Villarreal VOLUMEN Filip Roca Volumen is an audiovisual installation that revolves around three-dimensional forms contained in a defined space. Their nature and behavior unfold through light and sound, generating optical illusions that play with the perception of the viewer. This piece is an abstract narrative that travels through the different states of matter, distorted physical laws, and hypothetic physical simulations. photo by Adam Elmakias PARASTELLA Christopher Schardt Parastella by Christopher Schardt is made of approximately 14,000 LEDs in 48 spokes suspended above you. The patterns generated from Hubble photographs, videos, and computer algorithms are accompanied by ambient electronic music by Ascendant courtesy of Synphaera . The mesmerizing setting and comfortable space are intended for you to relax and contemplate. photo courtesy of the artist BLOOM BLOOM Dana Lynn Harper Bloom Bloom is an interactive sculptural installation by Dana Lynn Harper, made with construction flagging tape and chicken wire creating a cave-like atmosphere. The tape, alternating in length and color, was individually looped through the wire using a repetitive weaving motion. photo courtesy of the artist PORTRAITS IN PINK, BLUE, AND SILVER BREAKFAST Studio Portraits in Pink, Blue, and Silver is an interactive kinetic artwork created by BREAKFAST using their Flip-Disc medium. This artwork is part of the Portraits series and records clips of visitors interacting with the work and then plays them back, cycling through all of the interactions. photo courtesy of the artist THE IMMIGRANT Michael Murphy The Immigrant by Michael Murphy is a 3D halftone sculpture. When you view the 2,300 wooden balls from 40 feet away, you see an image of the artist’s partner, Natasha Vladimirova. The presentation in Scottsdale shows the remarkable transformation of the Grand Canyon from dawn to dusk from the artist’s perspective. ELI Nate Milton ELI is a true story based on the filmmaker’s experiences within the realms of high strangeness, magical thinking, and manic delusion. photo courtesy of the artist NOTES ON BLINDNESS: INTO DARKNESS Peter Middleton, James Spinney, Arnaud Colinart, Amaury La Burthe Notes on Blindness: Into Darkness is an interactive VR project based on the audio diaries of writer and academic John Hull, who – after decades of steady deterioration – became totally blind in 1983. photo courtesy of the artist WELL WISHES MY LOVE, YOUR LOVE Gabriel Gabriel Garble Well Wishes My Love, Your Love is a non-verbal, abstract short film by animation filmmaker Gabriel Gabriel Garble. Imbued with dripping digital landscapes and pulsing psychedelic visuals, the film follows the dreamlike quest of a boy taking on a bizarre favor involving the prosthetic arm of his beloved orphaned friend. photo courtesy of the artist BLOOMS John Edmark Blooms are 3D-printed sculptures designed to animate when spun under a strobe light. The rotational speed and the strobe light frequency are synchronized so that one flash occurs every time the bloom turns 137.5 degreesthe angular version of the golden ratio (0.618...). photo by Devon Hutchins GAMELATRON GANDABERUNDA Aaron Taylor Kuffner Gamelatron Gandaberunda is named after a two-headed mythical bird creature on the outskirts of the main Hindu mythology, believed to possess immense magical strength. This artwork features 36 mirror polished hand forged bronze gongs, and two Balinese style cymbal arrays called ceng-ceng tuned to a non standard 6-note scale. photo by David Blakeman INTO THE LIGHT Julia Carrillo Into the Light by Julia Carrillo is a light essay in a space with controlled conditions that recreates a peculiar rainbow. It consists of a dynamic projection of the decomposition of light that reveals the spectral colors. The static image of the rainbow constantly breaks its own plane, explores the space in unsuspected patterns.
